What is the Walk for Good Food?
The Walk for Good Food is an important fundraiser coordinated by Access of West Michigan that supports UCOM and 9 other organizations in our community that actively working to address food security and poverty.
This is the 45th Annual Walk for Good Food (formerly known as the Hunger Walk) and we invite you to join us as we continue to work to transform our food system together.
This year's Walk for Good Food will include an optional in-person kick-off on Sunday, May 1st followed by ten days of walking in your neighborhood! You can do your walk anytime between May 1 and May 11. Follow along via Access’ social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) using #Walk4GoodFood
What is Good Food?
Good Food, as defined by the Michigan Good Food Charter, is food that is:
- fair – no one along the supply chain was exploited for its creation
- green – it was produced in an environmentally sustainable manner
- healthy – it provides nourishment and enables people to thrive
- affordable – all people have access to it.
