COVID-19 Updates

12/27/2022

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have changed how food services are provided at UCOM until further notice.  We want the very best for our community. The health and well-being of our neighbors, volunteers, and staff are of the utmost importance to us.

In-Person food pantry services have resumed

  • Appointments are required for in-person shopping
  • No more than 3 shoppers will be allowed per appointment block.
  • Appointments are limited to one person unless a second is needed for medical reasons.
  • Shoppers are encouraged to wear a mask while inside UCOM's building.
    • UCOM has masks available if you would like one.
  • Children may wait in the lobby while their parent shops.
  • Appointments are limited to 30-minute time blocks, at the end of which shoppers must exit the building so that the next appointments can start on time.
  • Shoppers should arrive for their appointments no later than 5 minutes beforehand.
    • If you are more than 10 minutes late you will have to reschedule.
  • All appointments must be made during the week you wish to shop.
  • If you can't make it to your appointment please call and cancel ahead of time. If you miss your scheduled appointment without calling to cancel it will count as one of your two services for the month.

If you are in need of food and live within the UCOM service area please call  616-241-4006. If you do not live in the UCOM service area or you do not know where your local pantry is located, please call the United Way's 211 Hotline.
